The 6600 floor scale design has not been cheapened to save cost, in fact it is the design that was approved by NTEP and meets the originally approved specifications exactly. The floor scale manufacturing line still uses mostly Sensortronics name brand load cells almost exclusively since they are widely appreciated for crisp performance, long life, and superior quality. This will depend on availability since this Sensortronics shear beam load cell is popular and imported.
The digital weight indicator that comes with this system is the 7600+. Now we could have cut corners and provided a plastic digital readout like many suppliers do.
