Every now and then a customer will ask our opinion about what scale we’d choose for a particular application… It’s actually nice to be able to slow down for a moment and offer industrial bench scales buying advice in today’s ultra fast world.
The answers we often give customers are based on past experiences. You see, after selling many of these scales for years and years, we have a really good idea how certain scale brands perform. We also see how certain scale models and capacities function.
Often our recommendations will vary depending on what application you are going to be using. For example, you may want a scale that has a 100 pound weighing capacity. Well, there are lots of scales that fit that criteria.
But once you mention, that you want to use it to ship boxes via UPS Worldship, then we immediately recommend one of our popular shipping scales like the NCI 7800 series (which is now listed as an Avery Weigh-Tronix 7800 series) or one of our Mettler Toledo BC60 scales.
Likewise, if you tell us that you need a 100 pound capacity scale that you want to use for….. parts counting — then, we will not recommend one of our shipping scales. Instead, we will likely recommend one of our popular electronic counting scales.
Keeping with the 100 pound capacity industrial bench scales example, our recommendation will change once you mention that you need the scale to be completely stainless steel for wash down purposes.
So the point of this article is, if you have questions or need a little assistance when choosing industrial bench scales, please contact our customer service department. We would be happy to recommend a scale for your particular needs.
