Imagine this... you buy a nice brand new 5x5 floor scale and then the very next day an out of control forklift runs over it and costs you hundreds of dollars in repairs.
Don't allow this to happen to you.
Add a bumper guard to any side of your scale that is exposed to traffic like forklifts. These bumper guards are made out of mild steel and painted safety yellow, so they will be easy to see in almost any environment.
Installation is fairly easy, just position the bumper guard beside the scale platform (you don't want to be touching the scale as this could cause errors in the weight readings). Mark the spots on your floor where you will need to drill holes. Purchase a few 1/2 inch anchor bolts. Drill the holes, add the anchor bolts and you're all set.
A little money and effort now can save you big money down the road.
